International Cooperation Illegal Fishing Handling
In order to optimize the control activities and control marine and fishery resources, including the efforts of illegal fishing, in addition to go through the program / activities that have been described previously, is also done through efforts to establish overseas cooperation both bilaterally and multilaterally.
Indonesia-Fisheries Surveillance Australia Forum (IASF) is part of the Australia-Indonesia Ministerial Forum (IAMF), which is devoted to the field of joint supervision and control SDKP, including cooperation on Illegal Fishing in the waters of the border the two countries. Until the year 2008 a series of Indonesian-Australian cooperation in the framework IAFSF that have been implemented include:
- Installation of radio communication equipment & equipment, testing and training and communication, June 2007-Bitung;
- Coordinated patrols in the Arafura Sea (November 2007);
- Development of practical guidelines for the hot pursuit of illegal fishing in border ZEE two countries and identify needs for its implementation;
- IAFSF third meeting in order to evaluate the joint coordinated patrols and joint planning to control fishing before (February 2008-Bali);
- Port Visit (supervisor fishery ship visits the two countries to the respective supervisor plane and visit the beach to the port of Australia Australia), the installation of radio communication equipment & equipment, and testing and communication training (April 2008 - September 2008 and the Darwin-Kupang and Tual) ;
- Coordinated patrols involving Australian Custom deangan vessel, sharks Macan 1, 2, 3 & 4, Aircraft Coastwatch Dash 8 in the Arafura Sea (April and November 2008);
- Evaluation (debriefing) coordinated patrols and patrol planning next (May 2008);
- Exchange of information IUU Fishing;
- Capacity building: training fisheries supervisor / field staff supervision will be conducted in Australia and Indonesia;
Then in 2009, IAFSF has mengagendakan a series of joint field supervision include:
- The discussion continued cooperation Hot Pursuit;

- Exchange of Information;
- Capacity Building;
- Rencana pembahasan MoU pertukaran Informasi dan Pengawasan Perikanan Bersama.
Regional Plan of Action (RPOA) to Promote Responsible Fishing Practices including Combating IUU Fishing in the Region
RPOA is a regional initiative initiated by the Indonesia-Australia and agreed by 9 (nine) of ASEAN countries (Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Philippines, Vietnam, Cambodia, Singapore, Brunei Darussalam, and Timor Leste) plus Australia and Papua New Guinea. The goal is to realize that fishing is responsible for including IUU Fishing in the area and the regional (South China Sea, Sulu-Sulawesi Sea and Arafura Sea).
Since May 2007 including inisiasinya stage, until the year 2008, the implementation of the RPOA has been running with the details of activities, such as in Table 18.

Coordination council of the appropriate Committee (CC), defined as a coordinator of Indonesia is the CC Secretariat RPOA for priode 2008 - 2010. In connection with this case have been established RPOA the Secretariat at the Directorate General P2SDKP Jl. Medan Merdeka Timur - Jakarta.
For the year 2009, the Secretariat has prepared RPOA agenda as presented in Table 19.

Besides, the Directorate General P2SDKP also participate actively in the field of bilateral cooperation and control of IUU Fishing with other countries such as the cooperation with Sweden (VMS capacity building and strengthening of the capacity control fishery harbor / port state measures); United State (the plan of cooperation in the supervision of the Pacific); malaysia, Vietnam, Thailand and the Philippines (on IUU Fishing and deportation foreign fishermen), and multilateral cooperation, such as the FAO-National Medium-Term Priority Framework (NMTPF); ASEAN, the EU (trade provisions to combat IUU fishing Fishing, and SEAFDEC (support implementation of the RPOA).
